Project Description

LRS are excited to announce we will be providing full land referencing services for the Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings Restoration project.

This is a large scale project with the current redevelopment estimated to have cost £28m.
Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings was the world’s first iron framed building, built in 1797.

This exciting project is part of a master plan for the wider Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings site, including the brownfield land for residential dwellings, potential conversion of other historic buildings and future commercial opportunities.

Full planning permission and listed building consent has been approved for this project. Handmade bricks have been created to match the original brick work and the 200-year-old cast iron columns are getting support from new added columns to support the original iron structure of the building.

LRS are happy to be working on this unique and internationally important restoration project, providing our full services.
